From a birthday gift to a mushroom farm.
Al's Mushroom World started in January 2021 when a mushroom growing kit — a simple birthday gift — sparked something unexpected. What began as a fun experiment quickly grew into a passion for Marcy and Albert Harris of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Today they cultivate a wide range of gourmet mushrooms right here in eastern Idaho, selling fresh and dried varieties at the Idaho Falls Farmers Market every Saturday. Their son even got in on the action, creating mushroom tea and lion's mane vegan cookies.
"Everyone wants lion's mane, and we can't grow enough," says Marcy. It's their bestseller — prized for its delicate flavor and wellness benefits.
